The Role
Due to growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate / Special Counsel level lawyer to join our tight-knit Financial Lines & Health team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will work in a truly collegiate team, headed by two leading and respected financial lines Principals, Hubert Wajszel and Scott Shelly.
The role offers a broad range of financial lines and health work from an array of clients. Financial lines matters will involve defending a variety of claims brought against directors, officers and companies, and professionals across the legal, financial services, construction and property industries. Health law matters will provide opportunities for involvement acting for hospitals, clinics, medical and allied health professionals and other health care providers in a variety of claims, disciplinary proceedings, litigated proceedings and coronial inquests.
The Successful Candidate
We would love to hear from you if you have the following skills, experience and attributes:
* defendant insurance experience (preferably professional indemnity);
* ability to build strong client relationships with a focus on client service;
* effective communication skills; and
* collaborative and pragmatic approach.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience at Senior Associate or Special Counsel level in financial lines
* Strong knowledge of regulatory and claims handling in insurance and health sectors (desirable)
* Admission to practice in relevant jurisdiction
