Job Description:
As the Service Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading a skilled team of technicians and ensuring the smooth operation of our service department. Your key objectives will include driving profitability, maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer care, and maximizing technician performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a dedicated workshop team to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional results.
* Drive department profitability by implementing efficient processes and procedures that minimize waste and maximize productivity.
* Ensure minimal Work-In-Progress (W.I.P) and control warranty processes to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Maximize technician performance by providing regular training and development opportunities, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
* Maintain exceptional safety standards and efficient workshop flow to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a technical or mechanical industry.
* Solid technical background and knowledge in heavy vehicle mechanics, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
* Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of technicians.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
* High-level organisational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
