Role: Thai Cook ($69,000 – $75,000 per year)
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook dishes according to our established restaurant menu and recipes.
* Season and prepare food with a variety of herbs, spices, and ingredients.
* Monitor and regulate kitchen equipment to ensure food is cooked and stored at the perfect temperature.
* Plate and portion food meticulously, adding sauces and garnishes for an appealing presentation.
* Follow strict safety and hygiene regulations for all food handling and storage.
* Maintain the cleanliness of your workstation and kitchen areas.
* Assist in planning, estimating, and collecting food and commodities.
* Collaborate with other kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth operations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Proven experience in a hands-on, team-focused kitchen environment.

* Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) and Food Handling procedures.

Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a higher relevant qualification.
* A minimum of 3 years of previous cooking experience in a commercial kitchen. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Thai cuisine.

* Menu & Culinary Development:
* Collaborate with management and ownership to develop and create innovative, seasonal menus.
* Utilize your advanced knowledge of Thai cuisine to maintain and elevate our authentic dishes.
* Oversee the preparation and presentation of all dishes to meet the restaurant's high-quality standards.
* Kitchen Management:
* Manage all kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory control, and food ordering.
* Plan and budget for inventory and stock to minimize waste and ensure ingredient freshness.
* Enforce strict food safety and hygiene protocols, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
* Team Leadership & Training:
* Train, guide, and mentor junior kitchen staff on proper food preparation, handling, and safety procedures.
* Foster an efficient, creative, and respectful team culture.
* Lead by example with professionalism and a strong work ethic.
* Quality Control:
* Conduct regular quality checks on all ingredients, prepared food, and finished dishes.
* Ensure every dish is perfectly plated and portioned before it is served to customers.
Minimum Requirements:
* At least 1-3 years of previous experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen setting.
* A Diploma in Kitchen Management, Commercial Cookery, or a similar relevant qualification.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in preparing a wide range of Thai dishes.
* Proven ability to manage a kitchen, control costs, and lead a team.
* Must have strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
* Must be legally able to work in Australia.
