Job Description
The Database and Middleware Operations Expert will be responsible for installing, managing, and maintaining corporate applications and databases, ensuring their security, performance, integrity, and recoverability. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities
* Install, manage, and maintain middleware products and supporting databases to ensure security, performance, integrity, and recoverability.
* Design and implement appropriate application middleware hosting environments to support development, testing, training, and production activities.
* Participate in formulating and maintaining technical standards.
* Provide technical support for middleware and database issues.
* Work with ICT teams to implement and support inter-application interfaces and integration with hosting platforms.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, the Database and Middleware Operations Expert must possess:
* High-level experience in delivering middleware administration services using Microsoft SQL Server and associated tools and technologies.
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science or Information Technology.
* Experience administering corporate applications on Microsoft Windows Server or Unix/Linux server.
* Proficiency in Apache Web Server, IIS applications, Wildfly/Java Application Server, and Apache Tomcat.
* Advanced knowledge of contemporary project management practices.
* Highly developed research, analytical, evaluation, and reporting skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively.
