The Role
At Silk Hospitality, our people are at the centre of what we do. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our high-performing payroll team and play a key role in supporting the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll across the business.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate payroll processing, maintaining payroll systems and employee records, and acting as the first point of contact for payroll enquiries. You will manage new starters, changes of conditions, adjustments and terminations, calculate employee entitlements, and ensure the correct processing and accuracy of your work.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end payroll processing
* Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries via phone and email
* Maintain accurate payroll systems, employee data, and records
* Process new starters, changes of conditions, adjustments, terminations, redundancies, and entitlements
* Support payroll reconciliations, reporting, and audits
About You
You are an experienced payroll professional who is comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. You bring a strong understanding of Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards, ATO requirements, superannuation, and workers compensation. You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and known for your accuracy and ability to perform well. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large payroll systems are essential. Most importantly, you are proactive, accountable, and thrive as part of a collaborative, people-focused team.

* Proven experience in a payroll role within a medium to large organisation
* Experience using payroll systems and advanced Excel skills (essential)
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
