About the Role
Join an evolving Financial Operations team as anAPS4 or APS5 Financial Operations Officer, contributing to a major transformation of finance and payroll services.
The agency is seeking multipleAPS4officers, includingGeneral Finance Officers, aDebt Recovery Officer, andPayroll Officers, as well asAPS5officers,including General Finance Officersand aPayroll Officer.

APS4 Financial Operations Officer

Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day accounts, finance, or payroll operations
Assist with the transition from shared finance services
Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Provide advice on accounts payable/receivable or payroll processes
Support credit card administration, reporting, and data integrity
Assist with audit readiness, risk management, and quality assurance
Respond to stakeholder enquiries and maintain strong relationships
Promote clear communication and contribute to a culturally safe workplace
Experience & Skills
Experience in finance, payroll, HR, or related operational roles
Strong administrative, data, reporting, and system management skills
Ability to follow policy, procedures, and relevant legislation
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
APS5 Financial Operations Officer

Key Responsibilities
Manage complex accounts or payroll operations and workflows
Develop SOPs, service frameworks, and assist with transition planning
Provide technical advice on accounts, payroll, or credit programs
Lead quality assurance, risk management, and audit preparation
Coach junior staff and resolve escalated issues
Contribute to process improvements and strong governance
Promote an inclusive, culturally safe work environment
Experience & Skills
Demonstrated experience in finance, accounts, or payroll functions
Ability to interpret policy, legislation, and organisational frameworks
Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capability
Experience coordinating tasks, projects, or specialist workflows
Confidence providing guidance, quality assurance, and oversight
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
