Our client is a national consulting firm looking for a talented Head of Finance post an acquisition.
**The Company**
Our client is a national consulting firm specializing in transaction and commercial advisory services for the infrastructure sector. They employ over 200 professionals, have a turnover between $40-$80M and have offices across the major cities in ANZ.
This role reports to the Group CFO and is an initial 6-month arrangement with a possibility to extend. Upon completion, there are likely to be additional opportunities for wider Finance Transformation initiatives.
**The Role**
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the acquired business, including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Develop and implement the monthly reporting processes to provide timely and accurate financial statements (and provide analysis & insights) to senior management.
- Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with the Group's policies and regulations.
- Management of the year-end process, the FY23 Audit and FY24 Budget.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and work to streamline financial operations. This will include
- Strategic review of accounting systems and processes
- Review of time recording and invoice production
- Update and document the revenue and expense recognition approach for long term 'deliverable' work (as opposed 'time and material')
- Implementation of timely and disciplined month end process (aligned with existing Group processes wherever practicable))
- Developing sole sources of truth, including mapping out data migration from legacy systems to Group corporate systems)
- Review of Intercompany integration issues (including intercompany invoicing)
- Review of working documents and templates
- Review of new P2P and O2C processes to analyse and implement enhancements and automation opportunities.
- Engaging with non-finance managers in order to improve information and data flows
- Manage and mentor the finance team to ensure the team is highly productive, motivated, and engaged.
- Act as the primary liaison with the Head office team, ensuring that the business is ready for future integration.
**Qualifications and Experience**
**General Requirements**

**Technical Requirements**
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or IT related.
- CA or CPA Qualification is essential.
- A background in SME organisations (preferably in the professional services sector) or hands-on senior finance positions.
- Proven process improvement experience and a talent for streamlining finance departments.
- Demonstrated ability to identify areas of improvement within business systems and processes.
- Strong Excel skills with an ability to improve existing templates.
- Technical accounting background with excellent analytical skills and knowledge of accounting standards.
- Prior management experience with demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including mentoring and engaging a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with others.
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Experience with Xero is desirable.
