Embedded Linux Optimisation Expert

\

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Linux Optimisation Expert to join our team. As an Embedded Linux Optimisation Expert, you will be responsible for collaborating with our globally distributed team to integrate silicon vendor platforms into the Ubuntu Linux kernel.

\

Key Responsibilities:

\

1. Collaborate with the team to diagnose and resolve issues in the kernel reported by partners, customers, and the community at large.
\
2. Work closely with silicon vendors to deliver distinct silicon-optimised variants of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
\
3. Improve tooling and automation for the delivery and test of Ubuntu Linux kernels.
\
4. Submit, review, and apply kernel patches with internal and external upstream maintainers.
\
5. Identify new means of maximising performance on partner silicon.
\
6. Develop and maintain device drivers, BSPs, and other aspects of hardware-level system engineering.
\
7. Contribute to the development of high-quality software through rigorous testing and debugging.
\
8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in embedded Linux and related technologies.
\
9. Travel occasionally for company events and collaborate with colleagues worldwide.
\
10. Continuously learn and develop skills in areas such as C programming, Python scripting, and performance optimisation.
\
11. Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and community engagement to enhance the team's collective expertise.
\
12. Adhere to open-source principles, contributing to the growth of the Ubuntu community and fostering a collaborative work environment.
\
13. Engage in regular communication with the team, providing updates on progress and discussing challenges or opportunities.
\
14. Support the growth and success of the team by mentoring junior colleagues and promoting knowledge sharing.

15. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while working remotely.
