Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Primary Design Engineer to lead complex engineering projects, contributing to the UK's Net Zero targets.
The successful candidate will have a strong history of team collaboration, career achievement, and high-quality project delivery. Relevant work experience in the sector is essential, as is the ability to leverage professional networks to gain insights and identify new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote safety through design and actively participate in hazard review meetings.
* Perform site surveys and collaborate with site teams as required.
* Develop concept and preliminary designs based on tender information.
* Generate and review general arrangement drawings, substation layouts, single-line diagrams, and related documentation.
* Prepare and refine technical specifications for designs and equipment.
The role requires travel to other offices and client sites across the UK, with overnight stays where necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
* Chartered Status (preferred): Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a professional body such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE).
* Strong experience in EHV/HV substation plant design, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects within the power sector.
