About the Role
As an Open Space Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing public spaces within our municipality. This exciting opportunity involves working on a variety of projects including district parks, officer areas, and level crossing removals.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and present public spaces to a high standard, ensuring they remain safe, beautiful, and welcoming.
* Perform horticultural tasks such as mowing, pruning, and planting, using your skills to enhance the appearance of our public spaces.
* Respond to customer requests with professionalism and care, providing excellent service to our community.
* Operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently, taking steps to minimize environmental impact.
* Support landscape improvement projects across the shire, working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver results.
What You Will Bring
* A Certificate III or higher in horticulture or landscaping, demonstrating your expertise in this field.
* Hands-on experience in gardening, mowing, and grounds maintenance, showcasing your ability to get the job done.
* The ability to interpret and work from landscape and horticultural plans, ensuring that your work is guided by expert knowledge.
* A strong understanding of safe work practices and OH&S requirements, allowing you to work confidently and safely.
* A MR driver's license or willingness to obtain, enabling you to transport equipment and materials.
* Basic computer skills and comfort using mobile technology, making it easy to stay connected and up-to-date.
* Relevant certifications such as chemical users accreditation, traffic management, and white card, reflecting your commitment to safety and compliance.
