Our venue, located on Tasmania's East Coast, has undergone recent refurbishments and includes a tavern, breakfast kitchen, and function space. The service is structured, energetic, and calm, with support from a Hobart-based production kitchen that supplies core components.
As a senior Sous Chef, you will lead our team, focusing on service consistency and team culture. This role is perfect for someone looking to take the next step in their career.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Leading kitchen operations across lunch, dinner, and small function services
Coordinating daily prep, staff scheduling, ordering, and supplier management
Managing food safety, quality, and kitchen presentation standards
Collaborating on weekly specials and integrating production kitchen components
Mentoring a multicultural team of chefs, cooks, and casuals
You will bring:
Proven leadership experience or the ability to step up from a Sous Chef role
Transparent, calm communication and a willingness to guide and uplift your team
Understanding of kitchen operations, ordering, rostering, and stock control
A level head in a fast-moving service environment
