Open Space Maintenance - Parks Worker Positions
Remuneration: Starting $1,295.25 per week plus applicable allowances and up to 13% Super
The Recruitment Pool is valid for a period of 6 months. At the end of 6 months, your placement in the recruitment pool will expire.
Council has temporary vacancies which arise due to short term absences. These positions are located both at Gympie and Tin Can Bay.
Job Overview
We are seeking to engage employees via the Recruitment Pool to undertake a range of activities as part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for the maintenance of Council's open space including sportsfields and parks and gardens.
Responsibilities
* General labouring duties and operating light plant and equipment.
* Maintaining parks, pruning, brush cutting, mowing, planting, cleaning and operating a blower.
* Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying better ways to do our work.
Qualifications
* Physical fitness with the ability to carry out labouring duties and/or small plant operation in trying conditions.
* Ability to work under general supervision and take direction.
* Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships in a team setting.
* A QLD construction industry white/blue card.
* Qld C Class Drivers Licence that is current and maintained.
Desirable
* Prior experience within Parks and open space maintenance.
* A QLD HR truck licence.
