System Administrator
Contract: Now - EOFY + 12-month extension extremely likely
Location: Sydney (on-site)
We're looking for a System Administrator to support a Defence environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining secure, stable, and high-performing infrastructure across systems, networks, and virtual platforms.
What you'll be doing
* Maintain and support Windows Server 2022 and RHEL 8 environments
* Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
* Support VMware & Hyper‐V virtual environments
* Administer Veeam backups and support disaster recovery activities
* Configure and troubleshoot Cisco networks and FortiGate firewalls
* Support LAN/WAN/VPN infrastructure with a focus on uptime and security
* Monitor systems, apply patches, and optimise performance
* Automate tasks using PowerShell and Bash
* Provide Tier 2/3 support and contribute to documentation
* Work with stakeholders and vendors across incidents and change processes
What you'll bring
* 5+ years' experience in Systems Administration
* Strong Windows and/or Linux (RHEL) background
* Hands‐on experience with virtualisation, backup, and networking technologies
* Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VPNs
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills
