A dynamic opportunity exists for a talented and motivated individual to join the Land Reform Projects team within the Surveyor General of Victoria as a Survey Technician at the Department of Transport and Planning.
LRP is a section within the office of Surveyor-General Victoria (SGV) whose purpose is to provide plan and land surveying services for specific Government land reform projects. Working with project partners, the team is responsible for investigating land tenure, and parcel definition matters to support the delivery of projects of State significance.
The Survey Technician will support all aspects of land survey requirements to produce high-quality surveys and plans for Land Reform Projects. The primary purpose of this role is to undertake field surveys, survey computations & preparation of plans and supporting documentation to the required accuracy to support Project Surveyors, Senior Surveyors & Senior Drafting Officers.
The successful candidate will demonstrate sound knowledge in using and maintaining survey equipment, interpreting and analysing plans, land tenures, surveyor field notes and historical records, as well as hands-on experience with surveying software packages and applications.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
1. Minimum mandatory qualification is a Diploma in Surveying.
2. Driver's Licence
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 30 months. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
