Job Description Summary
Service Stream is on the hunt for an experienced Applications Manager to join our GBIS team!
About the Role
We Are Hiring : Applications Manager - Corporate Systems.
The WHY :
We don’t manage applications; we engineer organizational efficiency. We believe that the true value of corporate systems – our ERP, HRIS and core financial tools – is measured by how seamlessly and accurately they empower every critical business decision. Our systems should not be a burden but a precision instrument. We exist to deliver a data‑driven unified experience for Finance, HR and Operations ensuring they can execute their strategies without system friction or delay.
Our purpose is to transform our internal technology from a cost centre into a strategic engine that drives compliance, growth and accuracy. If you believe technology’s highest calling is to perfect the core business engine, this is your mission.
The HOW
This is a strategic leadership mandate focused on discipline, partnership and process optimisation. You will achieve this purpose by operating with alignment, rigor and focus:
* Lead as a Business Partner: Gain the trust of our corporate stakeholders by working backward from their KPIs (e.g. time‑to‑close, time‑to‑hire) to define the best application operational strategies and investment priorities.
* Champion Standardisation: Discipline the corporate application portfolio, eliminate customisation sprawl and ensure our systems align with industry best practices. Advocate for maintainable, scalable and auditable processes. Ensure everything is documented and measured.
* Drive Value Realisation: Hold your portfolio accountable for delivering quantifiable ROI, proving that every system upgrade or integration directly saves time, reduces risk or lowers operational cost.
We are looking for someone who asks WHY the business needs a change before defining WHAT systems need to be implemented.
The Role Details
As the Applications Manager – Corporate Systems you will be accountable for the operational performance, lifecycle technical delivery and teams supporting our core corporate systems portfolio.
Core Responsibilities
* Application Portfolio Stewardship: Own the full lifecycle governance and budget for all core systems (ERP, HRIS, Financial Management, etc.) ensuring data integrity and compliance across all integrations.
* Business Process Alignment: Lead process analysis efforts to identify bottlenecks and functional gaps, driving system configuration and optimisation that enforces standardised, efficient workflows.
* Roadmap & Migration: Support and drive our multi‑year modernisation roadmap focused on upgrading and migrating legacy corporate platforms to new, more integrated solutions.
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of System Analysts and Application Specialists, focusing their effort entirely on delivering optimum operational service and delivery to projects, creating verifiable process improvements and maximising user adoption and knowledge.
Required Experience
* Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
* Must be an Australian Citizen.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Proven problem‑solving, analytical and organisational abilities.
* Hands‑on experience with major ERP systems (SAP, Workday, Chris21) and geospatial systems.

* Experience with cloud‑based corporate applications and process automation tools.
* Familiarity with business intelligence tools.
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business or related field.
* 10 years in IT with a strong background in corporate applications including ERP and/or HR systems.
* 5 years in a leadership role reporting directly to GM level.
* Experience managing distributed teams.
* Demonstrated expertise in managing large‑scale application upgrade or transformation projects.
* Proven ability to calculate and communicate the business ROI of corporate technology investments to executive leadership.
Benefits
* Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
* Genuine career development and advancement opportunities.
* Access to discounts with hundreds of businesses (e.g. Woolworths, AirBNB, JB Hi‑Fi, Bupa).
