Job Opportunity:
The position of Research Associate is available to contribute to the development of an artificial intelligence-based foundation model toolbox. This innovative project involves utilizing a wide range of historical, global, and regional weather and climate data to create a general-purpose tool-box initially tested on climate risks to agriculture across the Asia-Pacific region.
The successful candidate will join a team led by Professors Andy Pitman and Scott Sisson, along with Dr Anna Ukkola, Elizabeth Vogel, Sanaa Hobeichi, and Doug Richardson.
About the Role
This exciting opportunity entails developing a cutting-edge AI-based foundation model tool-box. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including advanced Python or C++ experience in developing and fine-tuning foundation models for modeling tasks. Knowledge of state-of-the-art AI models and architectures is also essential, with a track record of collaborative coding and code sharing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the technical development of the AI-based foundation model tool-box.
* Engage in collaborative research with the existing team.

Requirements:
* A PhD in a related discipline, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science.
* Advanced Python or C++ skills with experience in developing and fine-tuning foundation models.
