In this opportunity we are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team, supporting payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in line with relevant awards and legislation.

About the Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll across multiple entities in a high-volume environment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. Including:
End-to-End Payroll Processing
* Manage collection and validation of timesheets through the Definitiv system
* Review payroll data for accuracy, awards, and entitlements
* Process payroll within strict deadlines
* Identify and resolve discrepancies prior to finalisation
* Reconcile and process Payroll Tax, PAYG, and Superannuation
* Maintain and update awards within the payroll system
Employee Lifecycle Management
* Set up new starters and process terminations
* Assist HR with onboarding and offboarding processes
* Prepare and calculate termination payments
Month-End & Financial Support
* Assist with payroll journals across multiple entities
* Investigate payroll variances and escalates where required
* Support finance with audits, intercompany charges, and reporting
Stakeholder & Compliance Support
* Manage payroll inbox and respond to employee and manager queries
* Maintain accurate employee records
* Support payroll integration for new acquisitions
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Minimum 2+ years' payroll administration experience
* Strong understanding of payroll legislation and awards (multi-state knowledge advantageous)
* Experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment
* Advanced Excel skills
* Online banking experience
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
* Excellent communication skills with the confidence to follow up and manage deadlines
* A team-focused mindset with a proactive approach
Experience with the Definitiv payroll system will be highly regarded but is not essential.
