Our client—an established and highly respected privately owned property group—is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager / Accountant to join their finance team on the Gold Coast.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a diversified business with a strong portfolio spanning industrial, commercial, and residential developments. You'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while supporting budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and compliance across a dynamic environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day finance operations and delivering accurate financial reporting across multiple entities. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys both detail-oriented accounting tasks and commercial partnering.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing monthly management accounts, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Assisting with consolidated group financial statements
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis
Managing accounts payable and receivable functions
Overseeing commercial lending and loan schedule reconciliations
Managing bank guarantees and liaising with internal development teams
Assisting with property management budgets, forecasts, P&L, and debt management
Contributing to statutory requirements including BAS, GST, and FBT
Project costing and cashflow reporting across development projects (Cheops experience advantageous)
Providing financial analysis and reporting to development managers
Supporting AP with coding and contract claim certification
Liaising with auditors and tax advisors
Assisting with weekly and monthly reporting across multiple shopping centre assets
Identifying process improvement opportunities across finance systems and workflows
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring a mix of technical capability, commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach.
You will ideally have
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
CA / CPA qualification
3–5 years' experience in a similar accounting role
Experience in property, construction, or related industries (advantageous but not essential)
Strong technical accounting skills and excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across teams
High proficiency in Excel and comfort with financial systems
Understanding of bonds, term deposits, and financial markets (advantageous)
