Overview
Lochness Landscaping Services is seeking an experienced Turf Manager (Metro Schools) to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of sports fields, lawns and gardens across multiple school campuses in the Metro South area. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of presentation and functionality of the school's outdoor green spaces.
Responsibilities
* Developing and implementing turf management programs to maintain healthy, attractive sports fields and lawns
* Overseeing a team of groundskeepers to execute mowing, edging, fertilisation, aeration and other turf maintenance tasks
* Monitoring turf conditions and making adjustments to maintenance schedules and techniques as needed
* Managing the procurement and use of turf maintenance equipment, tools and products
* Liaising with school administrators to understand their needs and priorities for outdoor spaces
* Ensuring all work is completed to safety and quality standards
Qualifications
* Significant experience (5+ years) in turf management, ideally within a sporting or council environment
* Strong knowledge of turf grass species, maintenance practices and equipment
* Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings and manuals
* Excellent time management and organisational skills to coordinate a team and multiple worksites
* Effective communication skills to liaise with school staff and external stakeholders
* Relevant qualifications in horticulture, turf management or a related field
