About the Role: An exciting opportunity for a Lifestyle Assistant to join our Busselton and Dunsborough facilities, focused on creating, coordinating and evaluating comprehensive lifestyle and recreational programs for residents.
Role Details: This is a full-time role, 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Job share will be considered.
Responsibilities
* In consultation with the Lifestyle Coordinator, other team members, and families, assist clients to express and participate in their lifestyle preferences.
* In consultation with the Occupational Therapist and the lifestyle team, plan, organise, implement and modify individual and group recreational programs and functions including community access.
* Identify the different levels of ability and interests of clients to maximise participation of all clients.
* Engage in planned activities with residents.
* Implement specific therapeutic programs under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
* Assess program outcomes, including reviewing and evaluating resident needs on an ongoing basis.
* Identify and implement program changes as required.
* Drive Capecare vehicles including the bus to transport clients thereby ensuring ongoing community access for clients.
* As required and directed by Registered Nursing staff, dispense medications during community visits.
* Assist frail and disabled residents with transferring, toileting and meals within the facility and during outings.
* Administration tasks – preparing materials, completing attendance records and statistics.
About You
As a Lifestyle Assistant, you are passionate about enhancing the quality of life for residents through engaging, person-centred programs that support their social, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs. With a Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle, an Allied Health background or relevant experience, you bring creativity, empathy, and strong organisational skills to this role. You're confident in planning and delivering individual and group activities, assessing outcomes, and continuously improving programs. A natural communicator and team player, you build strong connections with residents, families, staff, and the wider community.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Certificate III or IV in Leisure & Health (preferred) or related discipline.
* Extensive experience in a similar role within an Aged Care environment.
