SDS is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified, reliable, and motivated personnel to join our Critical Risk and Industrial Services division in the role of Site Access Controller.
The Position
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Site Access Controller. Reporting direct to our North Eastern Operations Manager, the role will be a Casual position based in Cairns, QLD.
About Applying
We are looking for candidates to manage site access to construction areas on Marine & Defence vessels. General responsibilities are checking contractor access cards to make sure inductions are up to date, also to ensure the contractor signs in and out of our online platform prior to entering site. General other relevant site access duties may be required.
Role Requirements include, but are not limited to:
· Attend all rostered shifts punctually and maintain a professional standard of reliability
· Be available to work either day shifts, night shifts or weekends
· Complete the Occurrence Logbook accurately to document all high risk work and occurrences throughout the shift
· Verify the induction pass of all personnel entering the compound, ensuring no unauthorised persons are granted access
· Monitor the vessel’s Fire and Gas Alarm Systems and respond in accordance with site procedures
· Support Emergency Response Team in ensuring all workers are accounted for and mustered in the case of an emergency
· Conduct site permitter checks and routine security walk-arounds
· Lock and unlock fenceline gates in line with operational requirements
· Promptly report all incidents, alarms, hazards, or irregularities
Essential Criteria
· HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
· HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
· Hold a current Construction Induction Card
· Demonstrated industry experience and a strong work ethic
· Eligible to obtain a National Police Clearance
· Excellent attention to detail
· Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
