Job Overview
The CAD Technician position is a critical role within our organization, responsible for creating detailed drawings and tracings using CAD software.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Prepare high-quality technical drawings and specifications
* Operate output devices to generate hard copies of drawing files
* Perform design tasks, including PC board path layout and configuration, internal and external packaging, and control panel layouts
* Maintain CAD files and ensure they are properly managed, updated, and stored in accordance with company guidelines
* Collaborate with engineers to implement revisions to designs as directed by supervisors
* Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and specifications before submission for review or use in further engineering activities
* Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD technologies and software updates to improve efficiency and quality of work
* Report progress and any issues encountered to supervising staff to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
Requirements:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in technical drafting/design training from an accredited institution or military training, coupled with 4 years of prior drafting experience
* Experience managing similar projects of size, scope, and complexity
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
* A US or Australian citizen with a BA/BS from an accredited institution

This role will be based in Alice Springs, at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space.
