And then we kept going We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves working on various projects including product development, equipment engineering, and process improvements. The successful candidate will focus on the design, development, drafting, and documentation of solutions for Daniels Health businesses globally, following our design and development procedures. This role encompasses all product lines and equipment from inception to manufacture and roll-out, including project management, quality management, and supplier management.RESPONSIBILITIES:Carry out product, equipment, and process development activities for new and existing product lines and processes.Liaise with various stakeholders including engineers, sales, product, and plant managers to focus on new initiatives and improvements.Create concepts and system architectures in response to new product briefs and requirement documents.Establish 3D designs and engineering drawings using SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.Liaise with external suppliers and internal resources to manufacture prototypes.Build and fabricate prototypes.Establish and execute test, verification, and validation protocols.Follow internal procedures for product development and complete all relevant documentation, including risk management documents.Design, test, and qualify production jigs and fixtures to support routine manufacture.Engage with key stakeholders to seek feedback on developed concepts, solutions, and products.Update existing products and associated documents using the company change management system.Analyze quality data and identify and execute product improvements.Support the manager and other team members with various project tasks.Develop and maintain a good understanding of products and solutions relevant to the industry.Coordinate small and medium-sized projects.Autonomously manage projects and communicate key project milestones with stakeholders.EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering).Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.Experience in product development, equipment engineering, and materials is highly regarded.Proficient in SolidWorks, including 2D drawings, 3D solid and sheet metal modeling, configurations, BOMs, etc.Experience with tolerances (basic and geometric).Familiarity with technical drawing standards (AS110).Experience with plastic part design and manufacturing.Thorough, focused, and creative with attention to detail.Capable of working autonomously.Occasional travel may be required.Ideal candidate is registered with Engineers Australia.Basic understanding of machinery safety (AS4024).Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is an equal opportunity employer.
