This role is for a Senior Environmental Advisor in Perth, Western Australia.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team to support the Clean Energy Link project, upgrading and installing transmission lines and substations to enable green energy flow to Perth. The role involves embedding environmental best practices across construction, delivering sustainable outcomes, and meeting compliance standards with integrity.
This position is ideal for someone who brings technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to environmental stewardship, working closely with delivery teams to protect the land, respect local communities, and meet obligations.
About the Opportunity
Acciona has been nominated to deliver a program of works for Western Power relating to the Clean Energy Link. These works involve upgrading transmission lines and substations to enable green energy flow to Perth. The Senior Environmental Advisor will shape the environmental legacy of the project and contribute to Acciona's commitment to sustainability, community wellbeing, and regenerative infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with construction teams and engineers on environmental issues.
* Assist with managing systems to support project delivery to obtain and maintain compliance with relevant state and commonwealth environmental approvals.
* Report to the Environment and Sustainability Manager on environmental performance and opportunities for improvement.
* Provide support to the project team to enable them to meet environmental commitments.
* Implement Environment Policy, Management Plans, Subplans, Procedures and Legislative Requirements.
* Drive commitment to environment and sustainability outcomes within project teams.
* Mentor and facilitate development of direct reports.
* Develop and update environmental documentation including CEMP, environmental procedures, worksite environmental management plans and environmental control plans.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant statutes, regulations, rules, procedures, standards, and policies.
* Develop and deliver environmental training, toolboxes and inductions.
Skills and Experience Required
* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Equivalent.
* Substantial site experience with environmental regulations and implementation of management plans in the construction industry.
* Working knowledge of audit procedures and processes.
* Highly developed communication skills and an ability to lead a team of coordinators/advisors in the field.
