12 Month Contract
Full time or Part Time
Salary: pro rata within the range of Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Levels 5/6 (as applicable) plus employer superannuation contributions.
The Tenants' Union of Tasmania is a not-for-profit community organisation that represents Tasmania's residential tenants.
We seek a motivated solicitor that is committed to social justice and tenants' rights to join the Tenants' Union and conduct our operations in the North-West of Tasmania.
Responsibilities
* Duties include providing legal advice and assistance, representing tenants in court and TASCAT, law and policy reform, and providing legal education.
Applicants / Qualifications
* Be eligible to hold a practicing certificate in Tasmania;
* Have a full, unrestricted drivers' licence;
* Have a requisite level of post-admission experience to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision;
* Be able to operate or learn to operate a cloud-based client management system;
* Be able to work in a team from a remote location;
* Be willing to travel to other parts of the state, in particular Northern Tasmania.
