Reporting to the Floor Supervisor / Director
Tasks to be Undertaken
* Ability to understand customer needs
* Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
* Ability to select, clean and prepare metal stock
* Capable of cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
* Capable of shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
* Ability to align parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
* Capable of joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
* Carry out TIG & MIG welding
* Examine welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
* Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
* Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
* Mark off and fabricate structural steel and other metal stock to make or repair metal products
* Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment
Qualifications
* An AQF Certificate III Trade Certificate in Fabrication.
* Minimum 1‐year related work experience as a Metal Fabricator.
* Robust internal customer service ethic
* Solid work safety ethics
* Ability to work independently and as a team member
* Strictly follow Occupational Health & Safety Guidelines
* Punctuality and reliability are a must
* Willingness to learn current techniques and train other staff.
Salary
The salary package is in the range of 85,000-90,000, varying with related experience.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
