We are seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse to step into a key leadership role at Echuca Regional Health as our Nurse Unit Manager – Subacute. This role will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a high standard of patient care, managing staff performance and fostering a collaborative team environment during a period of change and growth. A fantastic opportunity for an established leader to drive clinical excellence in a fast‑paced surgical setting.


Key responsibilities

* Provide clinical and operational leadership to the Sub‑Acute team to ensure the delivery of high quality Sub‑Acute services
* Lead the nursing team to ensure a collaborative professional and supportive environment which fosters effective and positive communication
* Ensure optimal scheduling and utilisation of Subacute resources, including staff, equipment and consumables
* Manage recruitment, onboarding, rostering, payroll, professional development and performance management of theatre staff to achieve a highly skilled and functional team
* Lead quality improvement initiatives related to relevant standards and ensure adherence to auditing, data collection and related action plans
* Ensure the theatre team is trained and prepared for all clinical emergencies relevant to the theatre service
* Actively participate in mandatory meetings as required and requested
* Maintain core clinical competence specific to the area of clinical practice


Qualifications/experience required

* Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
* Minimum of 5 years post registration nursing experience including experience as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager
* Previous management experience and understanding of human resource management, financial processes, quality management and clinical governance
* Post Graduate Qualification in Management or related studies
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality improvement processes and related activities
