Senior OpenShift Administrator Job Description
Our organization seeks an experienced Senior OpenShift Administrator to oversee the implementation, management, and retirement of infrastructure that supports digital services. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting on-premises Red Hat OpenShift clusters within government services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and deploy scalable and reliable OpenShift or Kubernetes clusters in enterprise environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
2. Collaborate with developers to automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using OpenShift, leveraging GitOps platforms and CI/CD pipelines for efficient service delivery.
3. Oversee cluster management, resource allocation, configuration management, and capacity planning within Red Hat OpenShift environments, ensuring responsible resource utilization.
4. Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Helm to support scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure.
5. Maintain the security of OpenShift environments by implementing best practices, including vulnerability scanning, network segmentation, and role-based access control.
6. Lead technical teams in executing OpenShift projects, mentoring junior engineers, and managing project timelines and deliverables.
7. Document systems, processes, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team.
