About the role
NSW Public Works is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services.
We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to plan and deliver essential infrastructure projects across the Riverina & Murray region, based in Wagga Wagga. This position suits someone ready to make a meaningful contribution to regional communities and who is willing to relocate or who already lives locally.
You'll manage a varied portfolio of civil and community infrastructure projects, from water and wastewater upgrades to public facilities and local transport assets. As a senior member of the team, you'll support other Project Managers and help maintain a collaborative, high performing delivery culture.
In this role, you'll lead projects end-to-end, planning, procurement and delivery, ensuring outcomes meet required standards for time, cost, quality, safety and environmental performance. You'll act as a trusted advisor to clients and lead procurement activities, contract management and delivery risk management.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone with a proven ability to deliver projects where clear communication, sound judgement and strong stakeholder engagement are essential.
You will bring:
* Background in engineering, construction, or major infrastructure project management
* Experience managing multiple projects with defined time, cost and quality outcomes
* Knowledge of contract administration, procurement processes and delivery risk management
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse client groups and community stakeholders
* Commitment to professional integrity, teamwork and a strong work ethic
* Relevant trade, post trade or tertiary qualifications (engineering preferred; construction/project management considered)
* Demonstrated experience in civil, water, wastewater or similar infrastructure
* Valid NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the region (including occasional overnight stays)
