The position of Senior Policy and Compliance Accountant will:
* Provide expert guidance and advice to the Director, Financial Control and Assurance and Senior Director on financial accounting policies, reporting and analysis.
* Lead, in conjunction with the Director, Financial Control and Assurance, the development and maintenance of appropriate reporting systems, policies, procedures, guidelines and systems to facilitate effective financial management at Children's Health Queensland.
About The Role
* Demonstrated experience in undertaking audit programs similar to the annual financial management assurance (FMA) program.
* Demonstrated ability to provide high quality and professional financial judgement and advice within agreed timeframes.
* Experience in compliance and assurance including the writing of brief and policy documents.
* Demonstrated understanding of the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements including accounting note disclosures and reconciliations in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and other legislative and government policy requirements.
* Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively within the team and with other key stakeholders, including members of the executive.
* Highly developed computer and data analysis skills including demonstrated experience in utilising financial management information systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly excel.
* Demonstrated staff supervisory, coaching and mentoring experience.
