To deliver on this new and exciting work, we are seeking skilled trades individuals to undertake long-term, world-leading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.
Placements are available in March 2026 and will be between months in duration.
Responsibilities
In the role of QA/QC Inspector, your responsibilities are:
* Learn inspection methods for submarine, including preliminary, in-process, pre-test and witness inspections.
* Conduct detailed inspections before overhaul, during repairs and testing and after installation to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
* Perform visual and dimensional inspections using specialized instruments to assess complex components and systems.
* Assist with audits and investigations, prepare reports and track corrective actions.
Eligibility Criteria
The successful applicant must possess:
* Australian Citizenship
* An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance
* Certificate III or IV in Engineering (Mechanical trade or equivalent)
* Minimum 2 years' experience in quality control inspections
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
* Ability to support audits, reporting and corrective action tracking.
Additional Details
During deployment, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training. This training program and work is carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.
At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines. Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
