Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will work closely with the Assistant Accountant and Financial Accountant, in leading and managing the day to day finance team operations.In addition to financial reporting, financial compliance and some financial planning and analysis (FP&A), GreenCollar’s finance team owns several operational business functions including the managing of the environmental credit trading portfolio and facilitation of landholder settlements. This role will provide the opportunity for involvement in all of these areas under the guidance and support of the Head of Finance.The location for the role is flexible but with a preference for Sydney.Your day to day responsibilities at GreenCollar will include:Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial information ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirementsProvide meaningful analytical insights on monthly financial performance contributing to the monthly board report. Identify potential actions and provide recommendations to senior managementManage the monthly financial reporting close processes with the support of a Financial Accountant and an Assistant AccountantKey involvement in annual financial budget and ongoing financial forecastingPreparation of weekly cashflow forecast and covenant compliance projectionsAssist Head of Finance with the management of the environmental credits trading portfolio including facilitation of trades, scenario modelling contract deliveries and liaison with the operational teamMonitor and review the teams completion of financial reconciliations and monthly reportsDevelop and maintain robust internal controlsAssist with taxation and compliance lodgements for Australian and US entitiesKey role in the financial audit process ensuring completion in line with regulatory requirementsKey involvement in ERP system implementation projectInvolvement in ad-hoc board reporting, analysis and Q&ALead the cost allocation project ensuring appropriate cost apportionment to GreenCollar projects and portfoliosSkills and experienceCA/CPA qualified with + 5 years’ experience in financial reporting roles, preferably with experience in professional services backgroundHighly organised, detail-oriented and possesses the ability to manage competing deliverablesA confident, enthusiastic, self-starter who can drive their career and professional developmentStrong commercial awareness and ability to communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholdersAbility to transfer financial awareness to operational data and processesDemonstrated experience in transitioning skills across multiple industries or sub/sectorsStrong Financial Reporting / Financial Compliance Experience (IFRS & Corps Act) – ability to work with complex transactions and recommend an accounting position to the wider teamExperience with the Australian Taxation System and lodgement requirements (GST, FBT & income tax)Experience with financial audit processesExposure to delivering best practice month-end close and financial reportingAdvanced Microsoft Excel Capabilities and Intermediate Financial Modelling ExperienceExperience in managing a team and providing on the job trainingManagement/cost accounting experience is desirable but not essentialA dynamic, growing and innovative leader in the Ecosystem Services market spaceFlexible and hybrid work environmentCompetitive remuneration packageSupportive and dedicated team environment5 weeks’ annual leaveWellbeing leaveVolunteer leaveGender-neutral parental leaveRegular social club activities and events (in person/online)Our commitment to Diversity, Equity and InclusionWe are an equal opportunity employer.
