Locum Hospital Social Worker – Mid December or 5th January start
Mid December or 5th January start.

Locum rates up to $75 per hour + super.
This role is required for an NT service remote 60-bed hospital.
The position demands high level skills as a sole Social Worker and demonstrated cultural competence working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.
The service handles high incidence of domestic and family violence, child neglect and abuse reporting, and statutory child removal.
Qualifications
Experience (not including placements) providing clinical social work services within a hospital setting (Emergency Department), including crisis intervention and short‑term support.
Strong knowledge and experience in domestic and family violence risk assessment, safety planning and support services.
Experience working with child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting requirements, and liaising with relevant agencies.
Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and after‑hours shifts, on call.
This role is not suitable for new graduates or candidates without paid hospital experience.
Eligible for AASW membership; overseas‑trained social workers must have qualifications assessed by the AASW.
A driving licence is required.
Responsibilities
Cases include sexual violence, ED presentations, crisis response (adults and paediatrics), guardianship, advocacy and NDIS applications.
Inpatient work only – ED, acute wards – general medical, surgical, palliative care, rehabilitation, maternity and paediatrics.
Strong crisis response and experience with victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Directors, Team leaders, SWs, DTs, OTs, PTs, SPs, AHAs, ALOs and Admin staff.
Mid December or 5th January for 3-4 weeks with possible extension.
Return flights reimbursed up to $ and free accommodation for locums.
