The Role

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional care, healthier lives'. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.

Responsible for efficiently and effectively carrying out all administrative duties associated with ward activity and patient management, including general reception duties, admission duties, medical record management and accurate data entry for all patient ward transactions using the Hospital's PAS and Scheduling systems.

Today, Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospitals' state of the art facilities and professional staff provide a unique blend of general and specialist medical services for the public and community, including a 24 hour emergency services, general medicine including close observation unit, perioperative services, specialist hand and eye surgery.

The Hospital is in the heart of the Central Business District in Sydney:

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

* Demonstrated experience in the performance of a wide range of administrative tasks as well as reception duties in a busy work environment
* Demonstrated effective customer service skills
* Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to display initiative and deal confidently with people at all levels
* Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
* Demonstrated experience using client-related database/s, MS Word and Excel on a regular basis and proven typing skills
* Ability to work independently and as an effective team member in a multi-disciplinary team
* Ability and commitment to be flexible and adaptable to workplace change
