Job Description
Analyzing risks is a pivotal role that involves evaluating potential threats and opportunities within diverse global energy trading portfolios.
This position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely risk reporting, fostering strong working relationships across teams.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in energy derivatives and commodity markets, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly.
In addition, the successful candidate will have advanced Excel skills, experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, high attention to detail, and proficiency in programming and data tools like VBA, SQL, and Python.
Key Responsibilities
* Data Sourcing and Validation: Source and validate data from various sources to feed into risk models, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
* Risk Model Operation: Manage the operation of key risk models, including data sourcing, validation, and reconciliation of model inputs and outputs.
* Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely risk reporting, fostering strong working relationships across teams.
* Documentation and Administration: Maintain comprehensive documentation of risk models, methodologies, and assumptions, and assist with the coordination and administration of risk committee activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Tertiary Qualifications: A degree in economics, mathematics, or a related discipline, preferably with professional certifications such as CFA.
* Experience: Experience in energy derivatives and commodity markets, with a solid understanding of quantitative finance concepts, including Value at Risk (VaR) and option pricing.
* Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, advanced Excel skills, experience with data visualization tools, high attention to detail, and proficiency in programming and data tools.
