Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required at Aerison, Bibra Lake office, Perth WA.
Responsibilities
* Manage mechanical design from concept to IFC.
* Supervise and allocate work to a team of 4–6 designers and engineers.
* Approve calculations, models, drawings and reports.
* Coordinate with project, fabrication and site teams.
* Perform and approve mechanical calculations, FEA, CFD, layouts, fabrication details and BOMs; ensure compliance with relevant standards.
* Lead and participate in design and modelling standards and practices.
* Maintain Inventor/Vault libraries, templates and document‐control workflows; improve modelling standards.
* Coordinate laser scans, review point clouds in Recap/Navisworks, resolve clashes and advise on constructability.
* Implement design‐automation tools, record lessons learned and address root causes of design issues.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent diploma with extensive experience).
* Minimum 10 years of mechanical design experience in mining or heavy industry.
* 3 years of leading a design, drafting or engineering team.
* Experience on brownfield and greenfield projects, including Bag houses, Conveyors and Pumps.
* Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Recap, ANSYS or Inventor‐NASTRAN (FEA/CFD), MS Project or Primavera.
* Dust Test SME (Highly Desirable).
