Job Description
We are seeking an Estimator and Cost Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for accurately auditing building costs, reconciling provisional allowances within building contracts, and ensuring financial transparency.
You will collaborate with stakeholders including construction, sales estimating, and finance to support project profitability and client satisfaction. Your primary focus will be on reviewing detailed cost estimates, analyzing actual building costs against budgets, and identifying variances.
Key Responsibilities
* Support project profitability and client satisfaction by reviewing detailed cost estimates and resolving oversights
* Analyze actual building costs against budgets and identify variances
* Update cost databases and benchmarking data to reflect current market rates
* Review and reconcile provisional allowances within contracts
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to verify costs and compliance
* Produce regular cost reports and variance analyses for sales estimating
* Maintain records of estimates, quotes, invoices, and reconciliations
* Assist in preparing final accounts and project closeout documentation
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Experience in residential construction estimating, cost analysis, financial accounting, project accounting, or quantity surveying
* Some exposure to financial reconciliation and auditing processes
* Understanding of building contracts and provisional allowances
* Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
* Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
