Our Darlot Mine site seeks a Safety & Training Advisor to support the operational site.

The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting into the Safety and Training Superintendent, the Safety and Training Advisor will be responsible for improving the Risk Profile and ensuring compliance and improvement of performance against regulatory, Vault Minerals Mine Safety Management System and Hazard Management Standard requirements. This role involves actively coaching and mentoring employees and contractors on the effective implementation of Mine Safety Management System requirements. This also includes coordinating all aspects of occupational health and safety-related elements in contractor management.
This position will be offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
* Generate comprehensive analysis of departmental training requirements and where apprioriate, collaborate with other training personnel to establish training calendars, select programs etc.
* Develop, review and facilitate the presentation of internal training programs within own area of expertise
* Ensure the delivery of quality training, source and coordinate the internal and external training programs including regular auditing, review and assessment of training material and its effectiveness within own operational area.
* Work collaboratively with other training personnel to share resources, material, providers, programs etc to ensure best-practice, timeliness of development and delivery, and economy of scale for all training and development activities.
* Support quality training functions, including needs analysis, material development and assessment requirements, develop, gain approval of and implement a competency framework for operational personnel.
* Develop and implement a competency-based training and assessment program for operational personnel, including the provision for regular re-assessment and evaluation, to minimise risk associated with the undertaking of operational activities.
* Ensure area specific induction training material is up to date and delivered to required personnel and visitors.
* Develop and maintain a training needs matrix for departmental personnel and provide direction and oversight of regular reviews for the required levels of competency and schedule required training to address these gaps.
* Assist with the development of individual training plans by providing support to managers and supervisors in regard to specific learning intervention programs to address skill/knowledge gaps
* Regularly monitor and provide feedback to department managers and supervisors on training initiatives, outcomes and logistical issues
* Regularly review practices and procedures and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Contribute to maintaining site certification in OHSAS18001, AS4801 and ISO14001 quality standards by maintaining accurate, current training records and addressing non-conformances in a timely manner.
* Develop and deliver on all reporting requirements within agreed timeframes
About You
* Diploma qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
* Cert 4 Training and Assessing and ICAM Investigation training (Desirable)
* Excellent knowledge and compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety legislation and Regulations.
* Previous experience working in a mining environment, focusing on designing and delivering job-specific training competencies.
* Proficient in using the MS Office suite, Pronto, and INX suite.
* Hold a current WA C Manual Driver's License
