Position: 2 permanent full-time positions commencing Term ****** at Alkimos College. Alkimos College provides secondary education to local intake area students and features world-class facilities including administration, student services, library, gym, fitness centre, food studios, cafeteria, IT labs, workshops, science labs, nature play area, performing arts centre and lecture theatre.
Role
The VET & WPL Officer works closely with the Program Coordinator – Pathways to support the operations of VET, WPL and Careers Programs for Years 7-12. Responsibilities include:
Establishing and maintaining program documentation, procedures and support materials.
Building a network of local businesses to provide workplace placements.
Conducting site inspections and meeting with prospective employers and Registered Training Organisations.
Visiting and monitoring students on placement.
Supporting Years 7-9 careers programs, pathway events and career tasters.
Providing high-level administrative support to the Program Coordinator.
The successful applicant should be well organised, highly proficient in written, oral and interpersonal communication, and possess strong attention to detail. Confidence in working with students, staff, parents, employers and community/industry representatives is essential.
Qualifications & Selection Criteria
Demonstrated knowledge of Workplace Learning programs and the ability to induct employers, staff and students on workplace learning procedures.
Knowledge of Vocational programs with ability to facilitate college/industry partnerships.
Experience in developing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on suitable Vocational programs for students.
Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Initiative and organisational skills with ability to plan and coordinate activities independently and collaboratively.
Computer skills including databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
Eligibility
Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights.
Valid Working With Children Check before commencement.
Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number.
