About Viasat's RF Engineer

This role involves coordinating satellite earth station operations, including tracking antennas, RF/microwave electronics, and monitor and control system software. You will maintain diverse RF systems, either directly or by leading vendors, while documenting incidents and managing projects.
The Day-to-Day
* You will respond to alarms, document issues, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
* You will work with external vendors for troubleshooting, resolution, and improvement activities.
* You will coordinate with on-site vendors during the installation of RF Devices.
* You will create, update, and maintain gateway-related Method & Procedure (M&P) and Runbook documentation.
* You will dissect complex issues using schematics, automated data, and other resources to resolve them.
* You will manage or support projects associated with maintaining a diverse setup of gateway networks.
* You will provide after-hours and weekend on-call support for AU systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* You must have 2 years of associate degree or equivalent related to RF Communications.
* You must have 5+ years of experience running gateway uplink antenna systems, earth stations, or relevant projects/programs.
* You must have experience maintaining Satellite or Terrestrial Microwave Earth Stations.
* You must have experience using RF test equipment such as a Spectrum analyzer Signal Generator.
* You must be able to mentor and lead individuals in the RF space.
* You must be able to perform 24x7 On-Call support on a rotating basis.
* You must be able to lift 11.3 kg.
* You must be legally authorized to work in Australia.
