A well-established boutique accounting firm in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join their close-knit team of six partners. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys working directly with clients, managing their own portfolio, and is interested in a genuine pathway to partnership in the future. The firm services a loyal client base including established businesses and retirees with investment structures, and operates with a very flat team structure. You will work closely with partners, have autonomy over your work, and build strong client relationships. The Role You will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, managing compliance and advisory work while liaising directly with both clients and partners. The firm is currently experiencing strong demand, so this role would suit someone confident in delivering high-quality work efficiently while maintaining strong client communication. Key Responsibilities Managing a portfolio of business and investment clients Preparing financial statements and tax returns for various entities Working directly with clients and advising on tax matters Liaising with partners on client strategy and complex matters Assisting with SMSF compliance and related work Systems The firm has recently modernised its tech stack and works with: Xero FYI Docs Class Super (SMSFs) Active Ledger (Practice Management) About You 4 years experience within public practice accounting Strong technical skills across business services and tax Experience working directly with clients Exposure to SMSFs would be highly regarded Comfortable working in a collaborative, partner-facing environment Interested in a long-term career opportunity with potential buy-in The Opportunity This role is ideal for someone who wants more autonomy, stronger client relationships, and long-term progression.
