Welder and Fabricator 
Join our team as a Welder and Fabricator, where you will play a crucial role in supporting various industries, including the timber sector. You will be responsible for welding, fitting, and fabricating structural steel, while working with blueprints. Utilize your skills to operate fabrication equipment such as torches, saws, and grinders, and handle materials using overhead cranes. This position offers day shifts from 5am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. 
Responsibilities 
Weld, fit, and fabricate structural steel components. 
Read and interpret blueprints to guide fabrication work. 
Operate fabrication equipment including torches, saws, and grinders. 
Use overhead cranes and material handling equipment effectively. 
Essential Skills 
Experience in structural steel welding and fabrication. 
Proficiency in FCAW welding techniques. 
Ability to read and understand blueprints. 
Additional Skills & Qualifications 
Experience with flux core welding. 
Proficiency in MIG welding. 
Skill in fitting and fabricating complex steel structures.

Work Environment 
You will work in a heavy industrial environment with large parts being machined. Our spacious machine shop currently has a small team, creating an open and airy atmosphere. Despite its size, the shop is bustling with activity and poised for growth, with plans to double the team size. Safety is a priority, and personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and ear plugs is mandatory. 
Job Type & Location 
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon. 
Pay and Benefits 
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
