The Northern Yarra Landcare Network (NYLN) is seeking a passionate and community‑minded Landcare Facilitator to support local Landcare groups, landholders and volunteers across the Chum Creek, Dixons Creek and Steels Creek areas. This role is funded through the Victorian Landcare Facilitation Program (VLFP) and plays a vital part in strengthening grassroots environmental stewardship.

About the Role
As the Landcare Facilitator, you will work closely with volunteer groups, landholders, Traditional Owners, community organisations and government partners to:
* Support Landcare groups and the NYLN to plan, resource and deliver on‑ground NRM projects
* Build the capacity and resilience of volunteer groups and committees
* Engage diverse community members in environmental volunteering
* Foster partnerships across sectors and strengthen collaboration
* Assist with monitoring, evaluation, reporting and administration under the VLFP
* Identify and support grant applications and resource‑leveraging opportunities
This is a 13‑hours‑per‑week position, offering flexibility and meaningful community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* On‑ground project support including planning revegetation, weed/pest control and sustainable land management initiatives
* Capacity building for Landcare groups through mentoring, training and governance support
* Community engagement across culturally diverse communities, youth, landholders and local organisations
* Partnership development with Traditional Owners, schools, corporates, local government and agencies
* Funding and grants identification, support and reporting
* Monitoring, evaluation and reporting aligned with VLFP requirements
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you are self‑motivated, community‑focused and passionate about environmental stewardship. You bring:
* Experience working with volunteer or community groups (Landcare or environmental volunteering highly regarded)
* Strong communication, networking and relationship‑building skills
* Project planning and organisational capability
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Experience or knowledge in NRM, environmental science, community development or similar
* A current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable attributes include: grant writing experience, familiarity with Victorian NRM policy, Indigenous engagement experience, communications skills (social media, newsletters), and comfort with GIS/databases.

Position Details
* Part‑time: 13 hours/week (0.4 FTE)
* Contract: Until 31 March 2028 (extension subject to funding)
* Pay: $52/hour + super + leave entitlements
* Location: Chum Creek, Dixons Creek & Steels Creek Landcare areas
* Reports to: NYLN President
* Additional requirements: occasional after‑hours/weekend work, Working With Children Check (if required), willingness to travel
