Overview
St John the Baptist Primary School, Maitland is seeking a temporary part time (0.2FTE) Primary Teacher to join the team for the remainder of the year. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and provides an inclusive learning environment across intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social and physical dimensions. The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and will work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
Responsibilities
* Support by the Catholic community and foster a faith-filled educational experience for students and families
* Promote the school as a place of learning and excellence where creativity and curiosity are nurtured and students engage deeply with learning
* Differentiate learning for students according to their educational needs and abilities and contribute to effective assessment practices and quality teaching programs
* Promote the school in line with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and implement pedagogical practices that improve student learning outcomes
* Work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
Experience / Criteria
* Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education and actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school (Catholic applicants for Primary or Religion Teaching positions)
* Ability to plan and prepare contemporary and compliant teaching programs and assessments across nominated areas to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
* Demonstrated ability to use assessment and school data to optimise outcomes
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school staff and the wider community to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes
* Demonstrate an innovative and agile mindset to support a culture of continuous improvement
* Experience with Deep Learning (Desirable)
Qualifications
* Qualifications as a four-year trained teacher
* Active NESA Accreditation
* Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
* Completion of anaphylaxis and CPR training
Conditions of Employment
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2025.
