We are currently searching for our next Butcher Manager! As Butcher Manager, you lead the meat department within a Harris Farm retail store. You bring your trade butchering every day and lead and coach your Butchers and Meat Assistants to grow their craft. You own the meat counter's presentation, product quality, food safety, waste, wage costs and sales. You work closely with the Store Manager and the Buying team to make sure the meat section is always the best reason to shop at Harris Farm. A working manager in the truest sense, hands on the product, eyes on the team. Responsibilities Work the block daily, lead by example with your knife skills and craft Set the standard for cuts, trim, presentation and yield across the whole team Quality-check every delivery, you're the final say on whether product hits the counter Plan value-added production, marinades, roasts, skewers, sausages, to match demand Drive yield and waste reduction through smart trade judgement, every shift Lead, coach and develop your team Roster the team within budget and matched to demand within the Store Manager's overall plan Hold real performance conversations, recognise strong work, address gaps early Build a department where people want to stay and grow the trade About you We are looking for someone who loves food and protein, with previous experience working in a fresh food retail business. Additionally, we are looking for someone with: Several years post-qualification as a working butcher Experience leading a small team, formally or informally Retail butchery experience essential, customer-facing confidence matters Genuine interest in developing the next generation of butchers Strong product knowledge across cuts, origin, cooking methods, seasonality Commercial nous — reads numbers, makes decisions, acts on insights Why you should apply If you like variety and love to be physically active Work with a highly successful business Value a career path At Harris Farm, we welcome everyone, from all walks of life and all abilities.
