About the role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-centric Payroll Manager based in Sydney to manage end-to-end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, overseeing third-party payments, and handling year-end reconciliation. The role requires a hands-on professional with strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset.
Role responsibilities:
1. Manage and run end-to-end payroll cycles for both Australia and New Zealand.
2. Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, including superannuation, payroll tax, and third-party payments.
3. Lead year-end reconciliation, reporting, and audit processes.
4. Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve payroll-related queries.
5. Act as the subject matter expert for payroll policies, legislation updates, and best practices.
6. Maintain and update payroll records accurately across systems.
7. Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to support employee experience and data integrity.
8. Oversee ADP payroll processing and integrate insights from other platforms as needed.
Role requirements:
* Proven end-to-end payroll experience across both AU and NZ, including compliance with regional tax laws and statutory requirements.
* Strong understanding of statutory compliance (superannuation, payroll tax, year-end processes).
* Experience with ADP and familiarity with multiple payroll systems/platforms.
* Proven ability to manage payroll operations independently.
* High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive data confidentially.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills - a people-centric mindset is a must.
