About the Role
As a talented member of our geospatial software engineering team, you will provide innovative and high‐value solutions to a range of complex spatial and technical challenges for our customers. Working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, development, integration, and testing, you will apply modern software engineering practices and geospatial technologies to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and contribute to the design, development, integration, and testing of geospatial software solutions
* Conduct prototyping and technical investigations to determine optimal geospatial approaches and methodologies
* Analyse and define functional and non‐functional requirements with engineers, specialists, and stakeholders
* Develop custom geospatial applications, services, integrations, and ESRI/ArcGIS‐based solutions
* Implement geospatial data ingestion, transformation, processing workflows, and user interfaces
* Ensure software quality through testing, secure development practices, continuous improvement, and mentoring junior engineers
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Geospatial Science, or equivalent practical experience
* Proven experience in geospatial software engineering within engineering or project environments
* Strong expertise in ESRI technologies (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro) and custom geospatial application development (JavaScript)
* Experience with geospatial data engineering, ETL processes, and spatial data integration
* Familiarity with open‐source GIS tools, system integrations (e.g., REST APIs), and modern development practices including CI/CD
* Proficiency with Agile methodologies, containerisation (e.g., Docker), and development tools such as Git, JIRA, and Confluence
This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold an active TSPV Clearance.
