Assisting the Food Service Director/Head Chef with managing kitchen operations to include food preparation and friendly, efficient service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Performing prep work such as washing, peeling, and cutting.
* Completing hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying and broiling ingredients.
* Preparing menu items according to approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
* Providing oversight of quality and quantity of product produced by kitchen staff.
* Serving patients, staff and visitors in a friendly, efficient manner.
* Setting up and breaking down hot/cold food station.
* Operating kitchen equipment (slicer, mixer, grill, oven, fryer, dishwasher) in accordance with health department and OSHA guidelines, using proper techniques for food handling and storing leftovers.
* Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and utensils.
* Washing dishes and ensuring compliance with applicable Department of Health food service regulations.
* Providing supervision of cooks and food service workers when Food Service Director is not available to ensure the safety, security, and cleanliness of the kitchen.
Requirements:
We are seeking an experienced individual with:
* No less than 2 years of experience in food preparation and cooking.
* Current SERVSAFE certification is preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
This position is full-time and will require working day shifts between 6am-6pm. Some weekend availability is required.
