Support Services Specialist
This role involves providing support and services to vulnerable children and families in remote areas of Queensland, focusing on early childhood development, parenting resilience, and community engagement.
* Supporting early childhood development and parenting resilience through mobile services and community programs.
* Developing and implementing initiatives to strengthen family relationships, promote early intervention, and prevent adverse outcomes.
* Enhancing participation and family functioning among First Nations and multicultural communities.
* Providing information, advice, and referral pathways to support children's wellbeing.
The role requires working predominantly in remote locations, with significant time spent traveling and overnighting in communities. This unique opportunity allows you to explore the rural and remote outback of Queensland while learning about rural life and supporting families and children.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evidence of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent is required; this is an equal opportunity measure.
* Tertiary qualification or working towards Diploma or higher in Children's services/Counselling/Community Services or similar, or willingness to study.
* Highly motivated and energetic person with demonstrated experience working with young children and their development, supporting families and communities.
* Current Queensland driver's license.
* Blue card.
