About The Role And Team
We have a new opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our Statutory Insurance NSW/ACT – Workers’ Compensation team based in our Sydney or Newcastle office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a career in a law firm and to be a part of a collaborative team.
You will be responsible for:
* general file maintenance including regular filing, opening and closing files;
* telephone handing for the team including answering all incoming calls;
* drafting of court documents and compiling of briefs;
* coordinating all outgoing mail to be signed, compiled and delivered;
* providing support to other legal assistants;
* maintaining Partners/lawyers’ contacts in our firm CRM InterAction, including assisting with list management on their behalf for events and communications; and
* other administration duties as required.
About You
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
* minimum one year legal assistant experience;
* experience in a workers' compensation practice is desirable;
* highly organised;
* strong attention to detail;
* excellent communication skills;
* ability to prioritise and perform to deadlines; and
* reliable, punctual, flexible and able to demonstrate initiative.
